No Rest for the Wicked

Hit a few bumps in the road with the job, had to revise a bit due to some misinterpretations and lack of info.

It's alright though, it happens, hopefully it's smooth sailing from here.

I wanna watch Blade Runner.

And So it Begins

Got the details for my first job today.

3 drawings so far.  I aim to get them done today, be ahead of schedule by a lot.  I'm petrified of not completing it so much that I want it done so far ahead of time that it doesnt make sense.

Treasure

Yesterday we went treasure hunting in erindale park, the massive one in mississauga.  I didn't know if I'd find anything but I actually managed to spot one hidden within a tree log.

It was cleverly covered in duct tape which made it blend in really well.

I left a little master chief inside it.

Where'd You Come From, Stranger?

Movie was kinda cheesy.

From the Corners of the Earth

So tomorrow Borderlands the game comes out.  Probably what makes this so exciting to me is the fact that it resembles the Anarchy Online mythos in so many ways, what with the desolate planet left to die from neglect and the over arching themes of isolation and alienation, all the way to giant atrox looking dudes.

I just hope it has enough content and replayability to make this a game worth playing as much as fallout 3 was.  I'm clocked at something like 300 hours on that.

At Gunpoint

Gotta work on signage in color for "art in the park, 2009, Oakville"

Talk about doing things in life you'd rather not...

little study

Need to keep an eye on the time while I do these things.

Also did another exercise on the spheres, I think I got 'em right.

Upside-down stomach

I'm trying my best to do my work but my stomach feels like garbage.
I'm trying to think if anything i ate did this.

In any case, I'm listening to protomen to give me strength.

Balls of Destiny

So i've been following some of these tutorials online that I got from Lyndsey.  They're colour studies specifically, focusing on the rudiments of it all.

Very complicated stuff, intimidating almost.

I'm excited though, I'll eventually kick its ass..

not today though,
not today.

Oh, but I did do well on these.

Million year old responsibility

The Earth is coming close to the end, and if it does and we all go up in flames.

It's all because of you.

Falling asleep

Just a rough run through of my cell for scientific.  The odd thing is that all the colors almost completely reversed on themselves when i exported it as a JPG.

I'm so damn tired.

i fixed it.

hu

zaahh.

Bodega

Started today without much sleep, but its okay though, i get to design an interior space.

I've chosen Dr. Wily's hideout.

Now for Zen.

Red light district

So there it is, a little dark of a picture but its there.  Small and sturdy, finally have it in my hands.  The difference between this and the old one is pretty phenomenal actually.  This one actually does what I want it too.

OoooooooOOO

Anyways.. Red light district possibly in Toronto?

Jaysus, we need to put a cap on these crazy dazy ideas.

Phasers set to stun.

So I've got something in my sights, something super relevant to my trade.  Rather than a super expensive intuous, I wanna get a....

The Lates

Didn't realize how late it is, just thought I'd do a little study on edge softness and such.  V is a newly rekindled hero of mine, how fitting that I should make it of him.

Rosy cheeks and all.

V

Just watched V for Vendetta again, forgot how amazing it was.  There's something very raw and true about how V is portrayed, something very human in both a literal and cerebral way.  Almost like a super hero we'd imagine while we slept to make right the things we want to be right.

I suppose that was the point though,

wasn't it?

FISTO!!

Security has been a real pain in the ass lately, kicking us out of the labs and such.  I didn't pay 7000$ for this shit.

The only problem is sometimes, in an art school, our sense of rebelling can get a little mixed up.

It begins anew!

So, after a lot of baby tears, I finally restarted my 5 week long oblique projection of room A133.

To my satisfaction it's turning out a lot better now that its correctly scaled.  It's also going a lot quicker than expected.

To my left is my honey, also satisfied.

Orange juice is awesome.

Stitch in time saves nine

I. Fucked. Up.

A 7 week long project I crammed into 5 weeks, complete with well over twice the amount of content was all done wrong.  All due to a small mistake, a mistake in the foundations.

It's rather difficult to explain, and its not even a big thing, its just a small thing that applies to every item created in the illustrator file.  It's also a mistake that can't be rectified very easily because its to hard to selectively pick out all the mistakes within the whole, its more efficient to just redo it.

Hours, gone, like I just slacked forever.

Moron, maybe next time I'll learn not to be as stupid as a rock.

ODST helmet time

The beginnings of halo odst helmet making madness.  It'd better be good!!

Working with sculptamold and bondo.

First run through of the tattoo sleeve.  I didn't add the lizard in yet because I wanted to get the tapestry done first.  The should to the supinator is supposed to be reminiscent of the Filipino flag while the rest is a story I'll explain once its closer to a final version.

Designing these are fun.

Vision

So i was trying to sleep last night when I saw an 8 foot tall man pass the door frame.  When i want to explore i saw the tip of a pair of slippers and immediately thought it was his feet.

Played Scribblenauts until 1 am.

Tribal

Design has always been one of my favorite things to do.  It encompasses the creative spirit and process as well as the technical know how to make something worth looking at.

My Cousin has asked me to design a tattoo for him, so naturally I'm very excited to do this, I've just been hella busy so its been tough to keep it up during these demanding weeks.

Tonight though I've cleared some time and am finally able to really sit down and iron out some details and overall form.  Since it's a sleeve I'm going to have to invent the patterning from the elbow down, so I'm going to have to do more research.

He wants a tribal looking tattoo sleeve that has a heavy Filipino influence to it, on top of the pattern sits a lizard.  I'm going to try to implement the texturing we learned in Katherine's class to make a convincing lizard while making the sleeve itself more graphic to juxtapose the images for more impact.  I want to make a sick cuff to the sleeve too, not just this 'ends out of the no where' BS.  Its gotta start sick and end sick.

I'll post pictures afterwards.
